did you disconnect the look from the door to the car body( a-pillar) ? as thats where they break;

i dont have elec mirrors but it stopped the central locking from opening from the in-door switch, i repaired 3 in all

Yeah took wiring out of the door completely did a continuatiy test on all wires. Just thinking if it cud be the lock itself or ecu under passenger seat. I did look for it but couldn't find it. Will have to take seat out.

Hi, I have the same problem. I can lock the door only with the key but not with the alarm. Did you find what's wrong with yours? Thanks

If it is a Mk 11, you will not find the ECU under th seat. The only one that is there is for the parking sensors. The main ECU has been placed in a different location.

I cheated with mine jay after i bought a new lock from scrapyard. I had to find and cut the lock and unlock wires and swap them around.

Hi Jay. You probably need your own thread for this but if your car only locks and unlocks using the key in the lock and not the buttons on the remote, you might need to code the fob (this is different from adding a key to your car's immobiliser). This is covered in the FAQ's http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/1485-coding-a-sharan-remote-key-fob/page__st__0%EF%BF%BDentry9914 and elsewhere on the site if you search. Be aware that there are two types of remote, infra-red (earlier) and wireless.

Just ignore me if I've misunderstood your problem.
